Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Copenhagen

Private transfer from Copenhagen airport to your centrally located hotel. 

Meet and greet with your local guide, review your itinerary and get the latest tips and recommendations for Copenhagen. The Danish capital has a cozy atmosphere – its manageable size allows you to easily explore on foot or by public transportation. One of the most romantic ways to discover Copenhagen is by boat. Take a tour on the city canals gliding past beautiful churches, historic houses and dramatic castle walls.

Make your way to the picturesque Nyhavn district lined with colorful 17th-century townhouses, where you can tour Andersen’s Fairy-Tale House and enjoy a beer and a snack, such as the traditional Smørrebrød (open-faced sandwich).

Day 2: Highlights of Copenhagen

Explore Copenhagen’s history and many attractions, including Amalienborg Royal Palace, Rosenborg Castle, the wonderful Tivoli Gardens and the iconic Round Tower. You can see these and many other sights with your all-inclusive city card.

If you have the courage, climb the spiral staircase to the top of the Church of our Savior for a 360° panoramic view of the city. The last 150 steps are on the outside of the spire!

Tour the Royal Reception Rooms and Royal Stables at Christiansborg Palace. Visit one of the quirkiest museums in town, the Guinness World Records Museum. Be sure to see the new aquarium if you are interested in contemporary design and marine life.

Day 3: Travel to Bergen

Hop on a short flight to Bergen, the beautiful capital of the fjords.

Meet your local guide for a sightseeing tour of the city. As you walk through the old town, you’ll be introduced to the rich history and distinct culture of this old Hanseatic harbor city. For a complete experience visit Bryggen harbor with its brightly painted buildings, take the Fløibanen Funicular to the top of the mountain overlooking the city, see Edward Grieg’s house at Troldhaugen and browse the animated stalls at the Fish and Flower market.

Enjoy a meal al fresco style at the fish market. Try the traditional seafood platter, some fresh sushi or perhaps a comforting paella dish.

Day 4: Gateway to the fjords

Enjoy the spectacular views of Bergen and surrounding islands and fjords from the top of Mount Ulriken accessible by cable car or bus. This is the perfect place for hiking whether you want to go on a short walk or make your way all the way to Mount Fløyen and from there descend into the city center.

Back in town you can visit the Leprosy Museum housed in a former hospital (open only in the summer). In the second half of the 19th century Bergen had the largest concentration of leprosy patients in Europe, which drove the research in finding a cure.

Day 5: Norway in a nutshell

Experience Norway’s most scenic locations through the fjord region. Depart by train from Bergen traveling across the most beautiful scenery in Norway. Experience the Bergen Railway, Scandinavia’s highest railroad, the breathtaking Flåm Railway, the UNESCO listed Nærøyfjord, one of the most dramatic fjords in Europe, and the steep Stalheimskleiva Road between Gudvangen and Voss with its spectacular hairpin turns.

Note: Your luggage will be transferred from Bergen directly to Oslo.

Day 6: Highlights of Oslo

Discover the beautiful Norwegian capital blessed with friendly boroughs and a distinctly Nordic atmosphere. To get you started, meet your local guide for a guided tour on foot exploring the main sights and getting to know your way around the city.

Take a stroll in the downtown area to see the Parliament, the Castle and the new Opera House. Learn about the remarkable Viking expeditions and the art of ship-making at the Viking Ship, Kon-Tiki or Fram museums. Your tourist pass gives you access to these and many other attractions.

Day 7: Experience Oslo like a local

Make the most of the day with a visit to Vigeland or Ekebergparken sculpture parks, two favorite hangouts with the locals. To gain an in-depth knowledge of the national sport of Norway take a tour of the Holmenkollen Ski Jump and Museum, the oldest of its kind in the world.

At lunchtime, head to the waterfront boardwalk lined with dozens of al fresco bars and restaurants. Sample local favorites from seafood dishes to the impossible to resist Norwegian waffles. 

Walk out to the fjords for a late afternoon swim. You might be surprised to know that some of the best beaches and spots for swimming are very close to the city center. Depending on the season you may also be able to take a seafood buffet cruise out into the Oslo fjords (cruise can be booked on request).

Day 8: Travel to Sweden

Head to Stockholm by express train enjoying the 6-hour scenic ride through the green Swedish countryside dotted with hundreds of pristine lakes.

Sweden’s eclectic capital offers several interesting museums, a few grand palaces and castles, and a vibrant Old Town with charming alleyways boasting many famous restaurants. Your local guide will take you on a walking tour of Gamla Stan (Old Town) with its colorful merchant houses, the heart of the city and the ideal setting for an introduction to Stockholm’s heritage.

Day 9: The best of Stockholm

Explore at your leisure the picturesque Swedish capital surrounded by water earning it the nickname of Venice of the North. Your city pass gives you access to the most popular attractions.

Visit the 18th century baroque style Royal Palace. Tour the Nobel Prize Museum, dedicated to the prestigious Nobel Prize winners for their achievements in science, literature and peace. Take a boat trip across Lake Mälaren to Drottningholm Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a magnificent palace with manicured gardens. Discover a couple of local museums, such as the Fotografiska (Photography Museum) and Spritmuseum (Museum of Spirits).

Be sure to also visit the ABBA museum with its great interactive exhibits. A glass of champagne to accompany your tour and muster your courage to get on stage is recommended!

Day 10: Return home

Private transfer to Stockholm airport. Depart for home.
